E25 means the dishwasher cannot drain properly. The usual causes are a blocked drain pump, debris around the pump impeller, or a pump cover that is not locked into place. A kinked or clogged drain hose/air gap can also cause it.
Try this
- Switch off the dishwasher and disconnect the power at the plug or circuit breaker.
- Remove the lower basket and take out the filter assembly.
- Clean the filters under running water.
- Sponge or scoop out any standing water.
- Remove the small drain-pump cover beneath the filter. The exact release method varies by model.
- Carefully remove food, labels, bones, glass, or other debris from around the pump impeller. Wear gloves and do not reach in blindly, because broken glass may be present.
- Refit the pump cover firmly until it clicks into position, then reinstall the filters. Bosch specifically notes that a loose cover can trigger E25.
- Check that the drain hose under the sink is not kinked or clogged. Clean the sink air gap, if fitted.
- Restore power and run a short rinse or cancel/drain cycle.
If E25 returns after everything is clear and correctly fitted, the drain pump may be damaged or there may be a blockage deeper in the drain system, requiring service. The model/E-Nr from the inside edge of the door will identify the exact pump-cover procedure.
