Volt & Vector LLC — Terms of Service

Last updated: October 29, 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the services offered by Volt & Vector LLC ("Volt & Vector," "we," "us," or "our"), including on‑site appliance diagnostics and repair, our website (voltnvector.com), and any communications we send by email or SMS. By booking an appointment, paying an invoice, or using our website, you agree to these Terms.

1) Service Area and Scope

  • Service area: Brooklyn and Manhattan (below 96th Street), New York City.
  • What we do: On‑site diagnostics and repair of residential appliances. Commercial or specialty equipment is by prior agreement only.
  • Safety & Code: Work is performed consistent with applicable NYC electrical and plumbing codes, manufacturer guidance, and safe‑work practices.

2) Scheduling, Access, and Building Rules

  • Arrival windows: 9–11, 11–1, 1–3, or 3–5. Actual arrival may vary due to NYC traffic, building access, and prior jobs. We text ~30 minutes prior to arrival.
  • Access: You are responsible for ensuring access (keys, doorman authorization, elevator bookings, etc.). If your building requires a COI, we can provide one with reasonable notice.
  • No‑show / locked‑out: If we cannot access the unit during the window, a return visit may require an additional trip/diagnostic fee.

3) Estimates, Pricing, and Payment

  • Diagnostic fee: $99, credited toward the approved repair performed from that diagnosis.
  • Estimates: We provide written estimates before non‑trivial repairs. Estimates are valid for 15 days unless otherwise stated.
  • Payment: Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due upon job completion. We may accept major cards, ACH, checks, or approved digital wallets via third‑party processors. Invoices unpaid after the due date may accrue late fees and collection costs as permitted by law.
  • Parts orders: Certain repairs require prepayment for special‑order parts and a return‑visit scheduling deposit.
  • Cancellation/reschedule: Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations may incur a fee up to the diagnostic amount to cover reserved time.

4) Warranty

  • Standard warranty: 180‑day parts & labor warranty on completed repairs when we supply OEM parts.
  • Exclusions: No warranty coverage for issues caused by misuse, neglect, non‑code installations, pre‑existing conditions outside the repaired system, water/fire/infestation damage, power surges, building supply issues (water/gas/electric), or third‑party work after our visit. Consumables (filters, bulbs, belts where used as maintenance items) and cosmetic parts are excluded unless expressly stated.
  • Diagnosis‑only calls: If you decline the repair or seek a second opinion, the warranty does not apply to the underlying issue.

5) Customer Responsibilities

  • Clear the workspace and provide a safe environment.
  • Disclose any known issues (leaks, gas odors, prior repairs) and building restrictions.
  • Ensure adult (18+) presence during service.
  • For washer/dryer or refrigeration service, provide reasonable water, drain, gas, and electrical access.

6) Documentation, Photos, and Data

  • We may create written notes, photos, and short videos to document the condition, serial/part numbers, and the work performed. These records are part of our service file. We do not publish identifiable home photos without permission.

7) Limitations of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Volt & Vector is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including food loss, missed work, or alternative accommodation costs.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific work giving rise to the claim.

8) Website Use

  • The website and its content are provided "as is" for general information. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that content is error‑free. Do not rely on general tips as a substitute for professional diagnostics.

9) Disputes and Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. The parties consent to the state and federal courts located in New York County and Kings County, New York.

10) Changes to the Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date indicates the most recent changes. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
